Lake Powell Reflections

I'm really enjoying these watery, loose paintings.  I know I will go back an forth between painting like this and really tight but variety is fun.  As much as I like really controlling the watercolor, wet into wet painting gives beautiful effects.

  3. Gosh, Nancy! Look how beautifully transparent that water is! The reflected canyon walls in the water are perfect. Please package up some of your talent and mail it to me? Pretty please???

  4. Thanks Sherry. I'd like to agree that it is talent but unfortunately it's just dumb luck. I don't think I could recreate this effect.

  8. Thanks Hilda. I was happy with how the reflexions turned out on this painting. It was just dumb luck and you could paint like this very easily.

    Thanks Kimberly.

  9. So lovely - beautiful colors and the loose effect is soft and dreamlike. Thought this must be on yupo or silk but looking back, guess it's wc paper! I love it! Luck?... Maybe...Talent? Definitely!

  10. Thank you so much Rosemary. Such nice comments! And yes, it is on watercolor paper. It's either Waterford 200# or Arches 150# - I can't remember.
