So beautiful and your music choice is fabulous! I loved seeing this WIP coming along, Nancy. I am going to order terra skin soon, by the way, so thanks for the heads up on where to find it.
Terraskin does sound like fun. Seeing the video and your process was really interesting, Nancy. You must have taken lots of photos during the creative process, then made a slideshow? One of my future goals is to make a video (instead of a slideshow) but the technology is definitely intimidating. You did a wonderful job!
TerraSkin is reallly fun Robin. I read about one artist using it with encaustics. You should try it.
I had a tripod set up on my table pointing down at my painting. I taped off an area so that I could put the painting in the same place every time I took a picture. After each pour, I reached up, turned the camera on and clicked. I couldn't see what I was shooting without climbing up on the table so I only did that when I first set it up. I was afraid I would kill myself since I'm so klutzy.
I really enjoyed your film and appreciate you going through all the work it took to produce it to share with us! So that painting was done with acrylics used like watercolors? What type of resist do you use? I am interested in trying Terraskin. Is it easy to find? Now you are a painter and film maker! Loved it!
When I set the camera up, I was too lazy to go get the ladder so I climbed up on a chair with rollers. I kept saying to myself, "this is really stupid, stupid, stupid" but I didn't listen to myself and did it anyway. I was lucky. I would like to tell you that I won't ever do that again but I would probably be lying.
Hi Kathleen, I use "Incredible White Mask" liquid frisket by Grafix. I think you will like the TerraSkin. Right now, the only place I know of in the U.S. to purchase it is Cheap Joe's. I got mine before they were a distributor so I had to get it from a place in Canada. If you go to Etsy.com and put TerraSkin in the search, MitzRocks will come up and they have a few different thicknesses available. I think the thickness I've been using is maybe 12pt or 16pt.
I work in just about every art medium I can get my hands on with my favorites being watercolor and silk painting. I love to experiment with different mediums and styles of painting. I try to paint every day and will post my paintings here as I finish them. I really appreciate any comments you may have on the paintings. You can sign up below to receive the postings automatically by e-mail. If you would like to see my artwork divided by medium, visit my website. If you would like information on purchasing one of my paintings, please send me an e-mail at nancycgoldman@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry. I think you will like the TerraSkin. I'm going to try using watercolors on it again. I think that will be harder than the acrylics.

Nancy, your response to Robin made me laugh. If it makes you feel better, I'm rather klutzy myself!
