Italian Stream

I've been playing with wax again.  This is an encaustic of a photo I took in Italy.  I love how the wax flowed and the painting transformed as I fused the layers together.

I think I will try painting flowers next with this medium.  So much fun.....

    So pretty! I cannot imagine working in wax; seems so difficult to control in my own head.

    Thank you Sherry. It is hard to control but I'm hoping it gets easier with practice. It's still a blast to use though!

    I agree with Crimson Leave, working in wax sounds difficult! But you seem to taking to it well! This painting is beautiful and has such a lovely, soft quality :)

    Thank you Theresa. I like this medium because I can't be too detailed with it. That's a nice change from my usual way of painting.
