At The Shore

"At The Shore"
Image Size 8" x 8"
Encaustic

Here is another encaustic with a shellac burn.  On this one I only put the shellac on the bottom portion.  This is an abstracted wave (in case you can't tell) and I thought the shellac burn would make a nice texture for the sand area.

  1. I am quite untutored in some of these complex mediums but I can tell you that the effect you have got is wonderful. The waves are a natural and the shore line is intriguing. Great job Nancy.

  8. No problem knowing it was waves. This process makes the sand look terric, mix of sand and rock. You are lighting it up!! (Pun intended). Better with the torch this time?

    1. I'm still not using a torch but lighting the shellac on fire was less intimidating this time.
