I'm playing around with pastels again. This was done on an unsanded pastel paper. I've become so used to using pastel paper that has a sandpaper-like surface that it was a bit frustrating to try to add multiple layers to this paper. The tooth filled up pretty quickly. I may try this one again using the sanded paper and see how different it looks.

Une douce lumière illumine votre oeuvre... Le travail au pastel sur un papier sablé est effectivement bien agréable. Je serai contente de voir le résultat alors...
ReplyDeleteUn gros bisou à vous
Excellent pastel, Nancy! This onion looks very realistic..love the light hitting it.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of this composition, Nancy. Your color choices are so spot on and so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like the colors you chose and the light you created. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteMerci Martinealison. Je vais utiliser le papier sablé pour un pastel très bientôt.
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilda, Sherry and Susan. I did this in a short workshop given at a art league monthly meeting and had to make up the lighting because we had flourescent lighting overhead which made the lighting really uninteresting.
Lovely little piece, your colours give it some real interest.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy.
ReplyDeleteLovely colors and softness in this piece.
ReplyDeleteThank you Theresa. I do love the softness that pastels give. It's such a lovely medium.
