This is a small oil. It's been a couple of months since I've painted in oils and I've got a few projects planned in that medium. It's fun to switch between mediums and practice different ways of painting.
I've painted this photo before but used much softer colors. I wanted to give this painting some drama so I darkened the sky and used more color.
Here is the painting that I did before of this same photo. Which do you like better?

Nancy, I love this dramatic subject! It's great the way you changed the atmosphere in each painting but I can't say I like one better than the other. They are both wonderful and so different!

En somme, deux merveilleuses peintures.

Being a fan of thunderous skies, you can guess which I like better! LOL Gorgeous skies and I can almost hear the thunder! Despite the splash of sun trying to break through, I think the storm will win this one!

ReplyDeleteI love the drama! I'm working on a large 24 x 48 painting with lots of drama in the sky. I can't hardly stop working on it. I guess I'm a drama queen and didn't know it. I like them both, but I'm crazy about the bolder one. Well done!
