Chardonnay

Here's a small oil painting that I started using brushes but finished it with a palette knife.  I like the texture from the palette knife much better than the brush.  I tend to work the paint too thinly when I use the brush.

    Love the grapes,Nancy! I love the leaves..so hard to get the "right" greens to use...nicely done.!

    Vous avez su magnifiquement bien jouer avec les nuances de jaunes. un beau travail de mixité.

    Thanks Hilda. Greens are my hardest color to use but it's also my favorite color. It's so soothing.

    Thank you Deborah. I'm glad you are reading translucency. It's hard to get that effect with thick paint and I wasn't sure how it would come across.

    I don't think I've ever seen a grape painting that I haven't loved. This is no exception, Nancy. I don't like the taste of grapes (I know, I'm weird), but I sure love the look of them on the vine. Beautiful job on proportion of the leaves too. One day I'm going to paint grapes myself!

    Love the palette knife work. I just finished painting grapes in a limited palette for my university class. I'll try and send you a picture after it is graded.

    I don't think you're weird for not liking grapes Sherry. They are a bit too sweet for me but I do like them a lot once they've been made into
    wine. : )

    Glad to hear that you're still painting Jerry. I look forward to seeing your picture of the limited palette painting...and when are you going to get a blog started?
