I started this painting last summer with acrylics and finished it this week with oils. The acrylics were making it look too bright and flat. I'm happy to have finished one of my unfinished projects. I'm one step closer to getting that studio clean..... Of course, this is only 6" x 6" so it really hasn't freed up much space. : )

Your words made me smile, Nancy. I've never had a fig nor even seen one in real life. These look simply yummy!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry. Figs are really yummy usually. These are from a tree that the birds planted in our backyard and while the tree and fruit are pretty, they don't have much flavor so I'm stuck buying them at the store even though I have a tree in the yard. The leaves are wonderful to use in flower arrangements too. They have such textural veins and I line them around a glass vase in the water with the back side facing out so it shows that wonderful texture. It's worth having the tree just for that and even though the fruit doesn't taste good, it's good to have them for paintings.

ReplyDeleteA clean studio? How will you work? LOL! Only kidding. I'm moving my studio this spring, so my stuff is in boxes. Can't wait to start with a blank slate. Great painting. The oils came out fantastic!
