I had to have a silk painting fix. I enjoy painting on silk so much and miss it if I go too long without doing it. I love the graphic quality of it. This is the second silk painting of grapes that I've done. They are really fun to paint and they bring back happy memories of visits to the wine country.

This is really a beautiful piece, Nancy. I love all the colors, especially the shades of gold and green in the leaves. The diagonal composition and the graphic feel of it is really great!
ReplyDeleteCrisp and beautiful, makes me want some Merlot! I think your silk paintings are fabulous, do you sell them framed and mounted or no?
ReplyDeleteThanks Theresa. It was fun playing with the colors in the leaves.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin. Yes, I usually stretch the silks and then if someone wants it framed, I frame them so that the silk is floated and recessed a bit from the mat so it has a small shadow box effect.
I love how the white line of the resist holds the whole painting together like a piece of stained glass. The variety of grape colors is fun, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you R. I love the white lines too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. Not sure if I like the leaves more, or the grapes - together, it's wonderful! The soft background really adds to this.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancie.
ReplyDeleteNancy, you make me want to try a silk painting. This is lovely and I can only imagine how difficult it must be.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, you should try silk painting. It's so much fun and it is surprisingly easy.
