I've finished another unfinished project. Yay!! I must have started this at least 10 years ago when I tried plein air painting for the first time. I finished it in my studio making it up as I went since I didn't have a reference. It was a good exercise and it felt good to finish another project.
Bonjour chère amie,
ReplyDeleteUn petit sentier qui donne envie d'être emprunté...
J'aime beaucoup comme vous avez traité la végétation... On peut sentir le mouvement de l'air.
Gros bisous ❀ ❁ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❁ ❀
Merci Martinealison
DeleteThis is beautiful, Nancy! Finishing a painting without a reference picture was challenging but successful! Excellent piece!
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilda. It probably doesn't look anything like the spot I was originally painting but I guess that doesn't matter, right?
DeleteOh I do think this is beautiful, Nancy! The softness of the greenery...a feeling of soft soughing in the wind as they brush against each other...
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry. You should be a writer. You have a very poetic way with words.
DeleteThis is why never throw old projects away! This is a very inviting scene and CrimsonLeaves said it all :)
ReplyDeleteIt's very hard for me to throw unsuccessful paintings away because I feel like they can usually be re-worked and made better. It feels really good to finish something from my 'pile', which seems to be growing faster than should be possible.
DeleteNothing feels as good as completing an abandoned picture, always learn something, even if you can't figure out why you didn't finish it! Sherry should be a writer as she perfectly describes the atmosphere
ReplyDeleteI do always learn something when finishing a painting that's been abandoned. Yes, Sherry is a very good writer. That's a very special gift.
DeleteIt has so much depth and I love the soft look of the vegetation. Good decision to give it another go, you have painted another winner!
ReplyDeleteThank you Theresa. It was very freeing to paint without using any reference.
