Sandy Cove

"Sandy Cove"
Image size 13" x 13"
Watercolor/Acrylic

I took an old painting that wasn't a favorite and added gesso over it using a scrap of mat board to move it around and have thin and thick areas which allowed some of the color from the old painting to show through.  That sealed the paper so any paint I added on top of the gesso was easily liftable.  I added some acrylic in areas that I didn't want it to lift and for the white water hitting the shore.

Foam

I'm still playing with the sea.  It's so weird that I'm so into these seascapes.  I've never had any desire to paint them before.

I've always loved how the foam remains after a wave has swept onto shore so I thought I would try to paint that.  I'm pretty happy with this but I want to paint more versions of this so I get to know it and hopefully get better at them.
