Rocky Falls

This was a fun, loose painting.  Most of it was done wet into wet and then did a bit of detail once it dried.  I'm really happy with the colors and feeling of this painting.

  1. It's great, Nancy. I love the loose quality to the rocks, but you've keep their craggy jutting edges sharp. It's a great contrast to the flowing water of the fall. Missed you at Fealing Lin yesterday but mentioned your demo to Betty Vier of HBAL. Ladies at the table agreed that would be a new thing of interest to see at the meeting. She suggested I tell the demo chairperson about you. Is it ok to give her your number?

  2. You really recaptured the movement of the waterfall. Did you paint from a photo or memory? or both?!

  3. Nancy, a beautiful watercolor painting. A visiting artist just did my house in a calligraphic watercolor style that I like so much I commissioned her to do my daughter's house. I hope to study with this artist after the holidays.

  5. One thing I miss with watercolor, (I did it a long time ago) is the wet in wet. This is nice, works very well!

  7. Thanks Cheryl, yes, you can give my number to the demo person. I'm still a little apprehensive about demonstrating for that group because it is so large but it would probably be good for me, right?

Hi Robin, I did use a photo but the painting looks nothing like the photo. I love our power to change anything we want. Ain't art grand?

Thanks Jerry. I'd love to see the painting of your house. E-mail it to me if you can. I'm still waiting for you to get a blog so I can see all of your new artwork.

    Thanks Amy.

Thanks Mary Anne. You should paint some watercolors once in a while just to keep it up. I'm sure your watercolors were just as wonderful as your oils.

    Thanks Theresa.
