Galactic Litter

Here's another weird one. I started this like last week's painting with poured frisket. My goal here was to create a sense of depth. It looks like things floating in space to me, hence the title. However, now that I'm looking at the photo, I'm seeing all sorts of things within the shapes. Does anyone have a better idea for a title?

  1. I am not a fan of abstract art but I really like this piece, Nancy! I think the title is quite perfect too and it looks quite like a galaxy behind the litter (your word - LOLOL). It is rather mesmerizing! Lovely colors and technique!

  2. Thanks Sherry. I had to try an abstract but now I think it's out of my system for awhile. I'm feeling the draw (he he) back toward realism. I wonder what next week will bring....

  4. Hi Nancy,

So happy to have found your blog, from Garden of Weeden. Your work is amazing abstract or not, well done. All the best to you.

  5. Thank you Padmaja and Joan. 'The Mind' would be a good title. Some days, that's what my mind feels like.

  6. I love this Nancy. I never used to like abstracts but they are becoming increasingly appealing to me. I guess everything moves in cycles.

The floating bits - they look metallic- is it metallic paint or just the way you painted the frisket? It's a great effect

  7. Thank you Deborah. No, there is no metallic paint on this but that would be a great addition.
